Steve Allen, MD, MBA is the chief executive officer
at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Dr. Allen received
his undergraduate education at Rice University, and obtained his MD
from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He
finished his residency in anesthesiology at the University of
Washington and his fellowship in critical care medicine at the
University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1983. In 1999, he
obtained his master's degree in business administration from the
University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Steve Allen came to Nationwide Children's Hospital
from Houston, Texas, where he was the vice president and chief
executive officer of Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital.
As a tenured professor, Steve has received several
teaching awards over the years from medical students and housestaff,
and has been listed in "The Best Doctors in America." Steve knows
medicine from many vantage points as a father of five, an
anesthesiologist, a scientist and as a top administrator.
